The official Pokémon description centers on Mega Darkrai ex, whose nightmare-themed identity fits the expansion’s name perfectly.

The set also features:

• Mega Zeraora ex
• Mega Chandelure ex
• Mega Excadrill ex
• Other Mega Evolution Pokémon
• Pokémon with special etched artwork

The expansion contains more than 115 cards, giving collectors a substantial checklist to explore.

What Comes in a Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle?

The Booster Bundle is straightforward.

Each sealed bundle contains:

• 6 Mega Evolution—Pitch Black booster packs

Each booster pack contains:

• 10 Pokémon TCG cards
• 1 Basic Energy

The international product configuration also includes a Pokémon TCG Live code card in each booster pack.

The Booster Bundle does not include accessories such as card sleeves, dice, a promo card, or a player’s guide.

This makes it a compact product focused primarily on opening booster packs.

Mega Darkrai ex: The Face of Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle

Mega Darkrai ex is the signature Pokémon of the expansion.

Darkrai is already closely associated with darkness, nightmares, and mysterious nighttime imagery. Mega Evolution gives the Pokémon an even more imposing presence.

The official Pitch Black product showcase specifically highlights Mega Darkrai ex as one of the central Pokémon of the expansion.

For collectors, Mega Darkrai ex is represented across multiple rarity treatments.

One particularly notable version is the Mega Hyper Rare card.

The gold-etched treatment gives this card a very different appearance from the standard versions and makes it one of the standout cards associated with the expansion.

Mega Zeraora ex

While Mega Darkrai ex represents the darkness of the expansion, Mega Zeraora ex brings a completely different energy.

Zeraora is known for its electric attacks and lightning-based design.

The official Pokémon product information describes Mega Zeraora ex as fighting back against the darkness with powerful lightning attacks.

This creates an interesting contrast within the expansion:

Mega Darkrai ex represents shadows and nightmares.

Mega Zeraora ex represents electricity and lightning.

Together, they give Pitch Black a strong visual and thematic identity.

Mega Chandelure ex

Mega Chandelure ex is another important Pokémon in Pitch Black.

Chandelure has always been associated with ghostly flames and mysterious environments, making it a natural fit for an expansion built around darkness.

The official Pokémon product page specifically lists Mega Chandelure ex among the featured Pokémon joining the Pitch Black expansion.

Its presence adds another Ghost-type-inspired character to the set’s dark atmosphere.

Mega Excadrill ex

Mega Excadrill ex also joins the Pitch Black lineup.

Excadrill is known for its powerful claws and drilling abilities, and its Mega Evolution provides another powerful Pokémon for collectors to discover.

The official product showcase lists Mega Excadrill ex alongside Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zeraora ex, and Mega Chandelure ex.

This gives the set several different Pokémon types and play styles to explore.

The Pitch Black Artwork

One of the defining characteristics of Pitch Black is its visual style.

The official Pokémon description presents a world where:

• City lights disappear into darkness.
• A starry sky becomes obscured.
• Mega Darkrai emerges from the shadows.
• Mega Zeraora brings flashes of lightning.
• Mega Evolution Pokémon appear with dramatic artwork.

The expansion therefore has a cohesive visual identity rather than simply being a collection of unrelated Pokémon.

Etched Artwork and Premium Cards

Pitch Black introduces several visually striking premium cards.

The official Pokémon product showcase specifically highlights Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards featuring etched artwork.

Etched details can create additional texture and visual depth on the card surface.

The expansion also features a Mega Hyper Rare Mega Darkrai ex, adding another premium collecting tier to the set.

These treatments give collectors more than one version of the set’s major Pokémon to pursue.

Six Booster Packs to Explore

The main appeal of the Booster Bundle is its six-pack configuration.

Six booster packs give collectors a convenient way to open a reasonable number of packs without committing to a complete booster display.

A single bundle provides:

6 packs × 10 cards = 60 Pokémon TCG cards

In addition, each pack contains a Basic Energy card.

The cards are randomly inserted, so opening a bundle does not guarantee a specific Pokémon, rarity, or chase card.

Booster Bundle vs Booster Display Box

Pitch Black is available in multiple sealed configurations.

The most important distinction is between the Booster Bundle and Booster Display Box.

Pitch Black Booster Bundle	Pitch Black Booster Display Box
6 booster packs	36 booster packs
Compact sealed product	Larger sealed product
60 Pokémon TCG cards across packs	360 Pokémon TCG cards across packs
Designed for a smaller opening	Designed for a larger opening
No major accessories	Booster packs only

The official Pokémon product showcase confirms that the Pitch Black Booster Display Box contains 36 booster packs, while the Booster Bundle contains six.

This makes the Booster Bundle a convenient middle ground between buying individual packs and purchasing a full display.

Booster Bundle vs Elite Trainer Box

The Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box is another product from the same expansion.

The standard Elite Trainer Box contains:

• 9 booster packs
• 1 full-art Zarude promo
• Card sleeves
• Energy cards
• Damage-counter dice
• Coin-flip die
• Plastic coin
• Storage box
• Player’s guide

The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box contains 11 booster packs and additional Zarude promo cards, including a Pokémon Center version.

The Booster Bundle is much simpler.

It focuses almost entirely on booster packs.

Who Is the Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle For?

The Booster Bundle can suit several types of Pokémon TCG collectors.

Casual Collectors

If you want to open several Pitch Black packs without buying a full display, six packs provide a manageable starting point.

Mega Evolution Fans

The expansion features multiple Mega Evolution Pokémon, making it relevant to collectors building a modern Mega Evolution collection.

Darkrai Collectors

Mega Darkrai ex is the central Pokémon of Pitch Black, giving Darkrai fans a reason to explore the expansion.

Sealed Product Collectors

A sealed Booster Bundle is a compact representation of the Pitch Black expansion.

Its smaller size also makes it easier to store than a full booster display.

Pokémon TCG Players

Players can use the cards pulled from the packs to expand their collection and explore cards that may fit their decks.

Opening a Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle

Opening six packs gives you an opportunity to explore the expansion without opening an entire display.

You could potentially find:

• Pokémon ex
• Mega Evolution Pokémon
• Full-art cards
• Special illustration cards
• Etched premium cards
• Mega Hyper Rare cards
• Trainer cards
• Other rarities from the expansion

A six-pack bundle should not be treated as a guaranteed way to obtain a specific card.

Keeping the Booster Bundle Sealed

Some collectors may prefer to keep their Pitch Black Booster Bundle unopened.

A sealed bundle preserves:

• Original packaging
• Six-pack configuration
• Expansion branding
• Product artwork
• Factory-sealed presentation

If you collect modern Pokémon TCG sealed products, the Booster Bundle can become part of a broader Mega Evolution collection.

How to Store a Sealed Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle

Proper storage can help protect the sealed packaging.

Keep the bundle:

• Away from direct sunlight
• In a cool environment
• Away from excessive humidity
• Away from water
• Away from extreme heat
• Away from sharp objects
• On a stable shelf

Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the package.

If you want to preserve the packaging long term, a protective acrylic case or suitable storage container can help reduce scratches and crushing.

Mega Evolution – Pitch Black Booster Bundle and the Mega Evolution Series

Pitch Black is part of the broader Mega Evolution Series.

The expansion continues the modern return of Mega Evolution to the Pokémon TCG.

Its lineup combines:

• Mega Evolution Pokémon
• Pokémon ex

This gives Pitch Black a clear place within the modern Mega Evolution collecting era.
