What Makes Ascended Heroes Special?

Ascended Heroes stands out because of the sheer size and variety of its card pool. With 295 cards, collectors have a large set to explore, making completing the expansion a substantial project.

The set combines cards sourced from Japan’s MEGA Dream ex and Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, along with selected additional cards. This gives the English expansion a broad mix of Pokémon, Trainers, and artwork.

Mega Evolution is also central to the expansion. Fans can find powerful Pokémon such as Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Charizard Y ex, Mega Gengar ex, and other Mega Evolution Pokémon.

What Can You Pull From an Ascended Heroes Booster Pack?

Opening a Pokémon TCG booster pack is always about the possibility of finding something unexpected. Ascended Heroes contains a large range of rarities, from standard Pokémon and Trainer cards to secret rares and special artwork cards.

Because Pokémon does not guarantee a particular Pokémon or rarity in an individual pack, every opening is different. Pokémon Support explains that standard booster packs contain 10 game cards, including commons, uncommons, and foil cards, with at least one foil card being rare or higher. They also include an Energy card and a code card.

Possible pulls from the expansion include:

• Pokémon cards
• Pokémon ex
• Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
• Trainer cards
• Illustration-style cards
• Ultra Rare cards
• Special Illustration Rare cards
• Mega Attack Rare cards
• Other secret rare cards

The exact cards inside a particular pack cannot be guaranteed.

Popular Pokémon to Look For

Ascended Heroes features a wide selection of Pokémon that make the expansion appealing to both collectors and players.

Mega Dragonite ex

Mega Dragonite ex is one of the headline Pokémon associated with Ascended Heroes. The official Pokémon announcement places Mega Dragonite ex at the center of the expansion’s theme, highlighting its role among the set’s powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon.

For Dragonite fans, cards featuring this Mega Evolution make the set particularly interesting.

Mega Charizard Y ex

Mega Charizard Y ex is another notable card from the expansion. It is one of the cards added from the Japanese Start Deck 100 Battle Collection material used for Ascended Heroes.

Charizard has remained one of the most recognizable Pokémon in the TCG, so its appearance adds another major collecting attraction to the expansion.

Mega Gengar ex

Mega Gengar ex brings one of the most popular Ghost-type Pokémon into the Mega Evolution era. It is also featured prominently in Ascended Heroes products, including the Tech Sticker Collection.

Collectors who enjoy darker Pokémon artwork or Ghost-type cards may find this part of the set especially appealing.

Are Ascended Heroes Booster Packs Sold Individually?

Ascended Heroes is a special expansion, and its booster packs were designed to appear inside sealed products rather than being sold as traditional standalone retail packs.

There are several official products containing Ascended Heroes booster packs, including Elite Trainer Boxes, Mini Tins, Premium Poster Collections, Booster Bundles, and other collections.

For example, the official Pokémon Booster Bundle contains six Ascended Heroes booster packs.

This makes sealed Ascended Heroes products an important part of the collecting experience.

Why Collect Ascended Heroes?

The set can appeal to different types of collectors:

• Mega Evolution fans can focus on Mega Pokémon.
• Set collectors can work toward completing the 295-card expansion.

• Pokémon fans can collect cards featuring favorite characters.
• TCG players can explore new Pokémon and Trainer cards for decks.

Tips for Opening Ascended Heroes Packs

Opening packs is part of the fun, but a little organization can make collecting easier.

Start by keeping duplicate cards separate from cards you still need. If you are building a master set, use a checklist to track your progress.

For cards that you particularly value, consider using protective sleeves and appropriate storage. Avoid bending cards, exposing them to moisture, or leaving them in direct sunlight.

Most importantly, remember that a specific card is never guaranteed from an individual booster pack. Pokémon itself notes that specific Pokémon or card types cannot be guaranteed in a particular pack.

Ascended Heroes is part of the broader Mega Evolution Series, but its unusually large card pool gives it a different collecting experience.
